Amateur Radio Licensee, KDØHTI

Welcome to the airwaves of my life. I am a licensed General Class Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign KDØHTI. My journey in the world of amateur radio has been both fulfilling and instrumental in serving my community.

Licensing and Credentials

I received my Technician Class Amateur Radio License in May 2008, and upgraded to General Class in July 2010. This has allowed me to expand the range and modes of my radio communications.

Sedgwick County Emergency Management (RACES)

Since May 2008, I have been an active member of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) team under Sedgwick County Emergency Management. My roles have evolved over time:

As a Training Officer and Radio Operator, I am involved in various emergency communication exercises and real-world operations. This includes DUI checkpoints with Wichita PD and Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department, storm spotting, and coordinating radio communications for numerous local events annually.

WØVFW Radio Club

I served as the President of the WØVFW Radio Club from 2010 to 2011. In this capacity, I was responsible for maintaining and operating the W0VFW Amateur Radio repeater, which is pivotal for emergency communications within the community.

Tec-Ni-Chat and ALARC408

In 2010, I joined the Tec-Ni-Chat Amateur Radio Club and have been maintaining their website ever since. In 2016, I founded ALARC408, another stride in my continuous effort to grow the amateur radio community.

Whether it's coordinating during emergencies, participating in local events, or just having a casual conversation with a fellow operator miles away, amateur radio offers an incredible range of experiences. It's not just a hobby; it's a commitment to community, learning, and communication.
